 Kia ora everyone ! today in cyber smart we made art using google arts and culture art coloring book. I chose this art called woman combing hair by GoyŌ Hashiguchi . I made the art look more modern and I made the colors pop. I hope you like this and you should totaly try to do this.

Hello and welcome back to my blog. This week we were doing, use linear scales and whole numbers of metric units for length. It was hard to do at first but when I understood it I realized it was really easy. You sould try solve some questions. My new learning is that to solve the questions you do tidy numbers to solve each question which makes it much easier to solve and understand.

Lost and found

Fifi’s fox tail hovered above the glistening water. Suddenly, the bamboo tube splashed Fifi’s tail heavily with water and Fifi got pulled into the barrel of water. Fifi was frightened and floundering in the water that was too deep for her. Deano gasped loudly as he saw his best friend sink into the deep barrel. Fifi was drowning in pain, She managed to grab a hold of the edge of the barrel and coughed loudly. Deano could see that she was struggling to hold on , Deno quickly swooped out of his box to save his best friend. Deano thought “I can do this, my best friend is in danger and I need to save her. ” He scurried quickly and zoomed to the edge of the table ready to leap in to save his best friend.

Hello again, Today me and my friend Natalia made a sort the comments drawing for cyber smart. It was a really fun activity to do togert and this is what we did...

First we ctrl + c and ctrl + v thumbs ups and thumbs down photos and we dragged them to the comments. Some were bad so we put the thumbs down on them, and some were good so we put the thumbs up.

Next we highlighted the bit that were good and bad.

And then it ended up on our blog.

this is a peice of art i made i called it the power of love. basicly the love heart is traping all of the baddness (the black lightning bolts) in little yellow clouds so the badness cant escape,and then the heart sucks in the badness and makes the badness disappear

whats in the bowl?

week 1 of distanced learning,

for maths this week we are doing probability, we had to put some colorful stuf (such as, lego, counters,colorful bears,colored paper) put a certain amout and enough to remember.then you put it in a bag or a bowl (like i did) and then predict what one you will pull out. i put in 6 yellow and  4  red, i thought i would pull out all yellow , but  i pulled out  3 red and 1 yellow! 

do you think it would be a fair amount if their was 6 red and 6 yellow ?

31st of march what i did on day 7 of the lock down

Hello everyone, today in New Zealand is the 8th day of lock down but im going to be talking about what i did yesterday. So first of all i went outside to ride on my pink bike, second of all mum said to me “soon, after i get ready we will go on a walk, but no bikes this time!” i was disappointed because i LOVE riding my bike, but when we started walking i got the stich but i didnt want to complain and get told off so i carried on walking . Dad tricked us because we live near a fish and chip shop so when we walked past the fish and chip shop dad said “lets get fish and chips for dinner!” mum and summer laughed, after a while we came a cross heaps of these vine things that were hanging from a tree, we had to walk through all the vines which were so fun to walk through so i said to Mum “that felt like a jungle!” when we finished walking i rode my bike even more, then we had lunch i had a sandwich with sweet chilli relish chips in side it, then me and my little sister Summer dressed up as diffrent princessess. First we did cinderella and one of the ugly step sisters, 2nd we did elsa and anna and last we did tinker bell and silver mist, then we had to do a huge tidy up. And of course we rode our bikes, then me, mum and summer made 3 pizzas for dinner. I had 6 slices because it was sooooooo good,then wegot into our pajamas and watched TV, then we drifted off to sleep.

The Joy of Jolly Jars

This term, our Project Based Learning (PBL) started with the teachers putting us into groups. In these groups we had to work collaboratively to create Jolly Jars for the school fair. This task helped us to begin exploring our PBL question for the term - How can we build community through our actions? We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.

I learnt that instructions need to  be clear and make sense, be specific, have bossy verbs, readable font \ handwriting, have a title, have steps, list of what you need. They also need capital letters and full stops.

Reflection on PBL:
For our Jolly Jar my group made origami dogs and cats.

I contributed to my group by buying some of the origami paper. I also contributed by sharing my ideas with my group.

Our Jolly Jar was creative because it was nice and simple for kids that are younger than me to use.

What I learned about working with others was  it is hard to work with other people I did not know that well. It was good in the end working with new people because we successfully sold all our jars.


How did we build community through our actions?  Our Jolly jars Contributed to the fair because we sold them and we raised money for the bike track.
